The best part of the day for me: My dog is my alarm clock. She hops on my bed and starts licking my face every morning around 6 AM which makes feel so happy and alive.

I know rain may be depressing to some people but I find it delightful. It’s an occasion to wear a cute trench coat, rain boots, vintage umbrella and go to a cafe, or sit nearby a window and find myself tucked in the pages of my favorite books.

I’m inevitably clumsy; I trip over things, and bump into to people.

I have to sleep with a light on.

I going to admit that I am germaphobe; I can't touch door knobs or handles without a cloth in my hand, I wash my hands after touching anything or shaking hands, never eat without washing hands, and always carry a hand sanitizer.
I have about 25 birthmarks. Tiny and light brown under my eyebrow bone and one besides. I even have one birthmark that looks like an anchor on my thigh. Knees, arms, legs...

Anniversary

Officially my one year anniversary this month of April. This past year of blogging was the best that I could hope for. Bloggers are fashion-forward, innovative, and friendly; I enjoy reading all of my feeds. Most amazingly readers and bloggers can interact with editors, stylists, boutique owners, designers were as before you couldn't. I recall the first time I stumbled into my first blog Fashionologie (Initially I had no knowledge what a "blog" really was I knew i liked it. On Fashionologie's blog links I came upon the Sartoliarist. Then discovered craft, design & Fashion blogs that expanded my horizons in a way that I became more aware of new of indie magazines and websites, learned that inspirations can come in different shapes and sizes. My deep admiration from bloggers inspired me to start me own; a place to write about the things I loved, were I could meet people with the same common interests as me, an archive of my ideas and thoughts. I could play editor in the morning at my own time and pace. Soon I had an audience, links and comments that I would read every word of. It is so overwhelming when certain blogger on my blogroll goes on live television or a well-known magazine (Design Sponge on the TODAY SHOW, Bakarella on Martha Stewart, Sartorialist on Vogue & Style.com). For staying ahead of trends, from bringing new words to our vocabulary (Ever heard of the words Fashionologie and Sartorialist until the blog?). YAY to the wondeful works of bloggers let's celebrate them!

Hello my fellow friends, yes been away for so long and I have miss you terribly. A little note for all my new friends, I wish you all one happy new 2008. Possibly through writing this blog it has enable me to have meet the most kind and interesting people.

Earlier today I saw of this day only of darkness, my to-do list was full of chores to accomplish before the coming of new years but as I read this quote online it helped me noticed it was the brightness it has been. Not to think of the future but appreciate the present day. No one but a lovely lady like Audrey Hepburn is the most indicated to quote today. I hope all of this makes sense, a degree in creative writing would be really handy here.

A little while ago I entered a contest held at Little Orchard and I ended up wining a free set of loveliest cards around. Just today I received them but I figured that I could never write in them with the fear of ruin them with my bad handwriting. The photographs are simplistic but still vivid. I think might just frame them.

Not long ago I signed up on a swap Architecture Photos ATCs, and to be honest with you its past the dateline and I still haven't sent photos because I was unable something I would be happy to photograph. Seeing this on design*sponge motivated me to look for decorative buildings around my own town; I can't say theres a large quantity of them but there definitely some out there.

Here's what I found today at our City Hall, not very ornate but I like. What I would like to photograph: pretty homes to make a scrapbook.

Saturday Afternoon was spent strolling at the park. We had a chance to dress our puppies for the occasion which everybody complimented about. Yes a Bichon doesn't normally wear clothes because of their cute powderpuff appearance which requires a lot of grooming. But what do I know?I'm a bad mother of two cute puppies; I give them ice cream and I dress them up!

Every time I head over The Home Depot or any other paint store you can always find paint chips in my handbag to later discard never to imagine that they are actually very useful (see card holder idea and artwork). Anthropologie stylist decided to use them for the walls, very ingenious as always. I love finding everyday items to incorporate in the decor!

My favorite part of the kitchen... The cupboard/cabinet shelves! seeing color; pretty appliances and unique dinnerware make time feel a bit more pleasant in the kitchen. Eating off delicate plates and sipping from dainty cups makes me happy even if I'm eating leftovers.

Despite the bad reviews the Marc Jacobs Spring 2008 RTW received, (the theme was about "sex"; the undressing of certain types of women?) But aside from that I found myself attracted to several elements of this collection. The shoes, the accessories, the hair pieces. It was def. something unexpected.

A mini trend I saw - little petite mouses. How cute! Reminds of the popular mouse flats of some seasons ago. Also detected flowers, and frogs!

These I feel like their were made with a certain Dr. Seuss illustration in mind.

A SHOCKING DISCOVERY

Ok. Maybe not! My regular site browsing led into a new discovery. Graphic Designer Joseph Abbati in Dallas, TX is the person behind the black & white striped wall entryway from domino's design contest. Inspired to re-create a Dallas Museum of Art exhibition Joseph went all out for a striped room from ceiling to floors. I love that he has a playful love for pattern & prints, vinyl collectible toys, my favorite quote of his:

"I think there’s a generation of us out there," says Abbati, "Who have decided we don’t have to give up our passion for owning things that may seem childish."

"Abbati brightened the wall beyond with a painted pink, red, and white design in the tradition of the Finnish textile firm Marimekko, forming a backdrop to a built-in desk."

The busy pattern displayed all over the room combined with a mirrored vanity & lucite items is so playful! Did anyone see this at the Domino Design Contest? This is an entry way to the bathroom my first instinct was that it was a powder room rather. This past weeks I have been remodeling the bathroom and I painted the walls blue and brown with silver stripes at the top. I am not proud of it as I know I will probably tired from it since it's a small space. I set myself a low budget with my objective being to make it as clean, chic, modern as possible. I do not know if I accomplish that. I don't know I might post pictures later as you might noticed I am very self conscious , I still have yet to install the vessel sinks.

I'm always amazed about what the creative people at ANTHROPOLOGIE are doing next with their store and catalog displays. but I just never looked up to Anthropologie as a source for inspiration for wall art prints! And when Design*Sponge was re-painting her bathroom walls, she looked no further than the Anthropologie site for inspiration. She did do a great job with the"bean mural", I'd say better than the actual Anthro wallpaper print (and again aren't they all her diy projects?)

Peter Callesen whom I have recently become familiar with, has the most beautiful pieces of art I've seen; it's breath taking. His work resembles that of Tord Boontje with his lattice-like forms.

Some of the small paper cuts relate to a universe of fairy tales and
romanticism, as for instance "Impenetrable Castle" inspired by Hans Christian
Andersen's fairy tale "The Steadfast Tin Soldier", in which a tin soldier falls
in love with a paper ballerina, living in a paper castle. Other paper cuts are
small dramas in which small figures are lost within and threatened by the huge

Cherry Blossom: Cherry blooms are in full bloom on the detailed flowers on the burgundy Dior gown and on the wallpaper

What I particularly liked about this Christian Dior couture collection is that it can easily translate into a room, of course in a different interpretation either in the form of a comforter, an element, in wallpaper, color, style, etc.. Fashion & Interior Design are relatively similar.

For me peonies are the most beautiful flower there is! The petals seem to be made of endless rows of chiffon, and the color of the desired shade I would want to paint my bedroom in. painted perfection.

Brocade home has a pretty gloss peony colored chair, just the name reference of “peony” is enough to capture my interest!

No, I'm not fortunate enough to have my own inspiration room but Brooke whom I met on the AV forum does. She was kind enough to let me use her photos on my blog so thank you Brooke!

The room is used simply for relaxation & as a reading and study room. Vintage inspired furniture, graphic silk pillows and little things as a classic black typewriter, vintage gold bird cage and a simple topiary, adorn the tucked away room. The items were gathered from flea markets & a local unique furnishing store... I love these types of rooms so full of inspiration! Did you notice her INSPIRATION board? As she said it allows her to change what inspires her at the moment.

I appreciate organic elements like wood so much that I can't help myself but to pick up small twigs or branches here and there. Each of them have beauty & most of all they don't cost a dime! Bird in the hand artist Lisa Congdon creatively incorporated nature into her bedroom by arranging a tree stump & a large branch along with white bird figures. Her home decor is also very nice. I'm just an admirer of her work...

Every morning I pass this house and I think I have become more of a stalker than a neighbor, I remember when it was first being constructed, it stood out in a sea of traditional homes in the neighborhood. Don't you just love it & wonder how the inside looks like? I love the basic structure of the building reminds me of the previous flick house posted. I promise I'll take a better photo next time and maybe even ask the home owner "DO YOU MIND IF A TAKE A FAST PHOTO OF YOUR PLACE?".
